In this workshop participants explore the relationship between the text and the movement with the goal to create some original movement compositions.
They participate in a variety of theatrical warm‐ups and exercises. These exercises usually help them develop techniques and skills, which include but are not limited to the following: listening, spontaneity, risk‐taking, group dynamics, concentration, following one’s emotional resonance. They also research how to use imaginative creative resources, drama-based exercises and role-play scenarios to make some bigger theater structures. Participants have a chance to explore process of creating characters, and “investigating” emotions, motivations, and the cognitive set of the characters. Becoming empowered in this process, they start to gain some experience in improvisation.
At the end of the workshop participants usually perform some drama material before an audience.
